I've had a very similar experience with the upgrade to 15.04. I've just
completed nearly 24hours of troubleshooting. I got around my NVIDIA
problems here after a fresh install of 14.10 and some advice I found
here that helped. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2263316 see

I also had this error on ASUS Z87-Pro motherboard when upgrading 14.10
to 15.04. Unity was unable to login using any kernel. Using a liveusb I
downloaded the lastest NVIDIA driver for my EVGA GeForce 960 GTX from
NVIDIA. I installed it from a root shell and I was able to log in after
restart.

I have this problem constantly. I agree this seems to be triggered most
often by pulseaudio. I'm using an epa kernel mod for Oneiric which sets
a nice value of -12 for pulse (I've used it since. The most common way
to trigger the crash is when an internet ad on a website like yahoo
tries to push
I have this problem, too. Mine crashes on startup. From what I gather
from the gvfs bug report it is a pulseaudio problem involving thread
requests on the soundcard, when other threads, especially java and flash
try to access it gvfs-fuse-daemon becomes zombie and that locks java or
firefox in
I found the source of the zombie for me. It no longer happens now that I
have disabled the bindwood extension for firefox. (The gui issues noted
above are apparently unrelated to couchdb crashes, since that still
happens).

I have this problem, too. Essentially I have two instances of couchdb running.
One is a zombie called 'desktop-couch-se' that is zombie in 'do_exit()', the
other is called 'desktop-couch-service' in do_wait() that is fine' couchdb
itself has two instances as well, one is in 'do_wait()' the
same problem here on the 9.16.31-12 kernel.

I'm having the same issue with 2.6.31-14 x86. The program just exits without a
crash warning.
Don't know how to grab the crash log. Anyone?
I have the same problem loading .wav
