If this might have something to do with the drive not being compatible with Linux, then consider that I'm able to play audio cd using SMPlayer 0.6.9 with the MPlayer backend without SMPlayer crashing. So this might not be an issue with the drive itself, but with how the applications (Brasero, Rhyt
