totem does not disable the dpms, so the display goes black after a

this is new (and affects other mediaplayers) and did not happen before
(jaunty, intrepid). a workaround is to set dpms off using:
xset -dpms

timeperiod for putting the display to sleep as in power management
preferences) trigger a dpms off of the monitor.

i can confirm, that this is not fixed by a 2.6.27 kernel (tested with images
prior and including linux-image-generic-2.6.27-3-generic version 2.6.27-3.4).
(for me it is a spanish apple keyboard (with us-layout))

yes, this is with ttf-sil-andika 1.0.basic-1. upstream package (the
tarball on the sil-webpage) does not have this font either.
i guess, it just got renamed, as tuxtype looks good, if the new font is
symlinked to the right name.
the debian package (1.5.17.dfsg1-3) does not look at this place,
synching to latest debian will also close bug #262776

on a recent intrepid (31st of july 2008), when trying to remove an old
kernel (say: 2.6.26.4) it complains, that /etc/kernel/prerm.d/last-good-
boot failed due to kernel-helper not existent.
kernel-helper is in package grub.
