The new packages do seem to help! :-) I downloaded and installed the new libxrandr2 packages (i386 and amd64) from https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libxrandr and they do indeed seem to resolve this issue. I have logged in via vnc and tested change of desktop resolution via xrandr -s. Kwin

The fix suggested by c4pp4 did help. I added this to InputDevice: Option XkbLayout se,us Option XkbOptions grp:alt_shift_toggle Then it seems to work. However I don't know if I can now edit the keyboard layouts in the GUI. I have not tried the setxkbmap fix. -- Henrik -- keyboard layout
