I have the newest version of ubuntu on a Dell 1525 with a 1395 wlan card
built in. I'm a bit overwhelmed as I've tried many avenues to solve
this issue. I'm running xubuntu and there is a wireless detection
utility in the upper right hand corner of the screen....I can see all
Access Points (including my own) I enter my password to connect to the
devise and I get nothing...it doesn't connect to the network neither
does it give any error message. I've tried:

uninstalling drivers and reinstalling (ndiswrapper etc.)
Changing network type on the router (WPA Personal)
Manual configuration of the Network (e.g. manually input the ssid and password)
Auto config

my output from iwconfig is:
eth1 IEEE 802.11 Nickname: ""
Access Point: Not Associated

I tried associating using iwconfig eth1 essid IfeatusRouter --> no success
It just goes to another blank line as if it had done it but doesn't

Any suggestions anyone?

bcm43xx does not associate unless "iwlist scan" is invoked.
