I guess Canonical doesn't want people to use Ubuntu in a corporate
environment anymore. I mean, why else would they ignore such a
devastating bug for so long, even when it's already been solved?

Sorry, I had gotten extremely busy immediately after I had submitted
that bug and was never able to fully test it out.
I am now on Hardy, and I have not experienced any problems burning
disks.

I was using the latest Kubuntu beta at the time of the bug. I was
applying updates religiously, but I don't know at this point what
specific version KDE4 was at in the repository.

I didn't do any conversion explicitly. What I did do was backup my
data, reformat and install Kubuntu beta, and then using a console I
restored all the data back to my home directory prior to logging in the
first time.

Any attempts to use suspend on a dell D400 laptop results in nothing
particular at all happening.
According to the acpid logs, it looks as if the relevent events arn't
even being activated, even if I end my session and choose either of

Here is the screenshots. I got to a point where I got fed up and just
moved my ~/.kde4/share/config folder and let the system create a new
one. This seems to have fixed this particular problem, so I am
including an archive of said config folder as well to look at.

I am using a Dell Latitude D400. Apart from restoring my home directory
data, I am using the stock configuration that kubuntu configured.
When I am at home, I have the laptop plugged into a Samsung 17" LCD
widescreen monitor. It's 1280x800 r
I've isolated the problem further... It seems that gutsy is not
detecting when there is a media change. My D400 CDRW is external, and
when I unplug and replug in the drive with my desired media, it works
fine. But any new media I put in is not recognised.
