Yes this is still an issue. I don't have access to that machine right
now so can't provide more information. I try to do that in couple of
days.
And yes, suspend worked in Oneiric, Natty, Maverick and Lucid. If I
remember right there were some early problems after upgrades or
installations but
Tested with ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/q-lts-backport and kernel version
3.5.0.4-generic #4~precise1-ubuntu.
Resume does not work.

(Regression) Acer TravelMate7520 does not wake up from suspend mode

After grub there's text Boot from ... Starting up. It flashes quickly
and comes back. After about 30 seconds text mmc0: Unknown controller
version (2). You may experience problems starting up flashes. Then
everything works normally.
