I added vga=791 onto the end, it merely reported an error saying the
mode was undefined. Setting 640x480 in /etc/usplash.conf, running
update-initramfs, and then removing the vga=791 bit from
/boot/grub/menu.lst brought up the splash, but the status bar was a

It seems to me like this should work because bug 16505 was supposed to
have changed the key to "^" in

I also got this. I dist-upgraded from Feisty Herd 1 using GUI
completely. It reported it couldn't Firestarter, but when I looked at
the output (it was right at the end) I saw that it had merely failed in
starting it using the init.d script.
I ran firestarter myself by running "sudo firestarter", a

As mentioned above, there's a HOWTO specifically for the WUSB54GS device
(Linksys Wireless-G USB Adapter) that mentions a workaround for the

I've added a script that can tell me as much information about my
battery as the gnome app. It's a bit messy, yes, but I commented it so I
think most can understand it. The only thing that would have to be
calibrated is the maximum charge for the battery, but the gnome applet

THis happens to me on a Radeon M6 LY card as well. Freezes are less
frequent and far between when I used xorg 7 in Dapper, though when I
upgraded to Edgy it freezed every time on glxinfo with this error in
