The screen captures are clear. They shows my computer (with Linux Ubuntu
8.10).
In "Linux-OpenSolaris.png" you can see 3 windows, cdrom0 (Linux Nautilus),
os64-01 (where OpenSolaris is running in a virtual machine created with
VirtualBox) and the background window with Linu

I will like extend the information about this problem. I reinstall Linux
Ubuntu 8.10 but now using the 32 bits version. The problem with de DVD
persist.
After that I install the last version of Virtual Box, 2.1.2 and install
OpenSolaris 2008.11 as a guest. And voila... OpenSolaris can show
NO, therefore I uninstalled Linux. I tried with PC-BSD but the
problem is the same, the system gives "access denied" to the contents
of DVD.
I believe the cause of this problem is that the DVD contains so many
documents on the root and the file systems used both GNU/Linux and
FreeBSD cannot proc

1. The DVD disc was inserted in two different DVD drives. One in a old
machine (Pentoium III) and another in a new machine (Athlon X2 64bit).

Yes, the DVD is a new drive.
Really, the problem is the same in different machines, one old with a
Pentium III and another with a Athlon X2 64bit.

However, I can hear music in a CD inserted in the same drive. Too, I can
hear music of a movie, but Totem cannot display it (this is another
problem.)
