I still can't effectively predict when I'll get the error. It's not as often as every other reboot but it still happens on occasion. The only error I've seen is once I received an error from the Gnome settings daemon "invalid settings" (or maybe it was conflicting settings). -- keyboard dead ever

Another game "SDLjump" that uses SDL (whatever that is) also won't run correctly on this 8.04 laptop. In the case of SDLjump the program cannot be terminated in a normal way, and required the use of system monitor and the escape key to quit. Perhaps there is a problem with SDL. -- anagramaram
