This is one of the most stupid default behaviors I have encountered.
Out of the several colleagues and family members who use linux (it is
used quite a bit in a university environment), they are ALL (down to the
last one) very annoyed at this behavior. The problem is that you have
your laptop open
You can use the following workaround.
List devices which can wake up the notebook from sleep:
# cat /proc/acpi/wakeup | grep enable

I think this issue is reproducible on laptops which do not have S3
system state, but rather use S0ix (like Dell XPS).
As S0ix (Suspend-to-Idle) is used the system is woken up from this state
by in-band interrupts, so theoretically any devices that can cause
interrupts to be generated in the workin
I had the same problem and a new Fedora solved this for me. On the other
hand, I am experiencing some problems with wifi now...

2) If I leave the box running (and stops generating the load), it actually does
not recover itself at all. It keeps outputing the "waiting for..." forever with

I too have this issue with a fresh vivid installation. In my case this
isn't a virtual machine. Booting with the default options, logging into
Gnome Shell from gdm, and bam, the screen is locked instantly. Lock
screen flickers and gives authentication error.

update: nieuwe glusterfs version 3.4.2 and the new packages from ubuntu

Add PPA repo from semiosis
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:semiosis
The symlink works.
mv /usr/lib/heartbeat/lrmd /usr/lib/heartbeat/lrmd-dist
ln -sf ln -sf /usr/lib/pacemaker/lrmd /usr/lib/heartbeat/lrmd

I'm on 13.10 and did the following to get glusterfs support in qemu.
== Install GlusterFS PPA
Add PPA repo from semiosis
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:semiosis/ubuntu-glusterfs-3.4
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y install glusterfs-client glusterfs-server
== Get GlusterFS glfs.h

I've just noticed the looong driver lookup on Fedora too and I found this in

When upgrading from precise to quantal via apt-get dist-upgrade the
upgrade process ends with error(1) and new kernel package isn't
configured. I believe this can lead to unbootable system (not verified
because I did a quick'n'dirty workaround - see below).
