I had removed beryl and compiz a few weeks ago before upgrading. I reinstalled through Synaptic yesterday and Metacity is running again and my desktop has returned to its previous status. It is worth noting that my system had hung a few times during the upgrade from the screen saver kicking on and

I did not have USBMOUNT installed, however I tried installing it, same issue, uninstalled same issue. Tried to chmod the device as suggested and received "Read-only file system" for every file on it. However, permissions on all files state Read and Write access. fsck -a returned : fsck from uti

When I first attach the phone I do. Then when I run the command as below the errors stop coming and I can access the phone at /media/disk. If I close the folder in Gnome, and try to access it again, it is empty. Once i rerun the command it is back to normal with all folders and files accessible.

Is there any update on resolving this bug? I plug in a USB player and the first time it mounts. Then after being unmounted/ejected or just unplugged from the usb it will not remount upon being reconnected. lsusb will not even show it there again until teh machine is rebooted. Once rebooted it all
