shouldn't be done by default. A lot of people here obviously see a
problem with it.

GLib warning is a red herring, and you should file seperate bug reports
so the devs can fix the issues properly.

I've experienced a similar hang up to Beta 1 whenever I tried to boot
the LiveCD (haven't tested Beta 2 yet). However, I only got the Glib
message in Alpha 3. Removing quiet splash makes it work, so I believe
this is a Plymouth issue.
I'd also suggest that this bug be marked critical, as one reply

I have a plymouth issue that might be related; booting the March 10th
Daily CD, the March 17 Daily CD, and the Beta 1 CD all fail when using
the graphical boot, the latter two seeming to freeze on the bootsplash
but the first displaying the GLib warning. I could communicate with the
kernel with Alt
