I am very new to the Linux community and have recently installed Kubuntu in a partition. I have the problem described in this thread - the CD/DVD ROM drive spins up and is very noisy, for no apparent reason, whether or not there is a disc in the drive and whatever program I have open or close. I can see no immediate reason for this.
I am not technical with Linux but willing and able to learn, so perhaps someone could talk me through the steps I have to take to report and resolve this issue? At the moment I simply can't use the Linux installation because of the noise. Windows XP is fine but I would prefer not to use that. Thanks. -- CD Drive spinning constantly at hight rpm with loud whirring noise https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/254369 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
