I reinstalled with sudo apt-get remove --purge firefox and
firefox v.16.0

I have the same problem with a macbook, after upgrading from gutsy to
hardy. Using the screen resolution in gnome, after hibernate, does not
help to solve the problem. Resolution is ok after a normal boot.
