To date, it is still a problem. The last time I went into hibernation
was last week, and the problem was more or less as I described it above.

I can confirm that "Undirect Fullscreen Windows" corrects the screen-
saver and power management issues (ex. - turning off my display after x
minutes now works) for a Dell Inspiron 1525.

This was not happening when using Hardy, but since upgrading to
Intrepid, the screen-saver not only fails to come on (it will queue up
as it it will come on and as soon as the screen goes black, the process
is interrupted, as described above), but the screen itself wont turn off

feature on my touchpad for a Dell Inspiron 1525. Just to reiterate -
