I can confirm having this problem. It results in the spawning of
hundreds of xfdesktop processes, until all my memory is swamped. I do
not have a problem with the xfce trash service though.

After more testing I can confirm this bug is still present. Upon every
login the spawning of xfdesktop processes is out of control, resulting
in constant spawning of processes until I kill them all. Usually it
results in an entirely unresponsive system unless I switch to a VT and
kill them all.

I performed the update at around the time the last comment was posted,
and have rebooted three times. Each reboot did not cause a system crash
when beginning the xfce session and I have yet to see the amount I saw
yesterday running.
At the moment I have 12 running (ps -A | grep xfdesktop | wc -l)

I have tested in 7.10 and the problem seems to be fixed. The version of
pidgin used is 2.2.1.

However it was present when i tested it in 2.1.0.

In regards to it being present in Gaim before it was named Pidgin, I
have tested using Gaim 2.0.0beta6 (the version the comes with Xubuntu
7.04) and the bug is not present.

Confirming the bug, however I do not receive any delay. I just get the
kinit warning and the boot process continues almost instantly.
Might be worth noting that I have no windows mounts at all, it is just a
pure (x)ubuntu system using XFS partitions.
