History: This was a standard basic installation of Xubuntu 15.04
upgraded to 15.10. It uses two nvidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti in SLI driving
a HP LP3065 2560x1600 monitor. The xorg.conf used from working
distribution is attached. The xorg.conf generated by "nvidia-xconf
-sli=Auto" is attached as xorg.c

After experiencing display errors with 352 (default at install), I used
additional drivers to test the 340 driver.
After reboot, the screen resolution was maximum 800 x 600. After
reverting back to 352, remained at 800 x 600.
Normal/expected screen resolution is 2560 x 1600
My workaround of attaching another monitor to my desktop acting as a
HDTV MythTV client is not 100% effective.

When trying to submit a but report on a boot-repair failure, apport
disappears and also the terminal window from which it was launched. It
work when fining a bug on grob-pc, but not on bot repair. It also
worked on this bug.

kernel on another disk (sdg) to be booted, the boot menu ommitted the
system
If you are using Mythtv, and this bug is affecting you, switching to
Unity 2D will provide a workaround.
