I have the same bug on two different Dell systems running Ubuntu 24.04.2
LTS. After starting up I may notice Firefox or other apps are slow to
start. Also in Nautilus the theme is not dark even though I have dark
mode set. Next I get the "gnome calendar ended unexpectedly" error. Once
that error ha
installed packages. The application is properly installed and working,
just no longer in the repositories being checked for installations.
Hopefully the noble package will will be properly updated soon.

We had the same config as OP on his first report.
We did what OP did by rolling back to the non-socket based SSH. We have our
connections back on 22. There were zero errors in the logs to report, and when
we were originally trying to ssh with --verbose the only message shown was
"connect
I just wanted to add to this thread that I experienced the same issue
after our server performed the unattended update of openssh-server from
1:9.6p1-3ubuntu13.5 to 1:9.6p1-3ubuntu13.7. We had a custom port for
SSH, and our attempts to switch back to default so far have been
fruitless.

During the SRU testing, I found many laptops displayed a black screen after
booting. Those machines are still alive and able to access via ssh, just
nothing displayed on the screen.
