Eric Lee Elliott I have uninstalled network manager all together.. I found in Ubuntu 8.1 it is very buggy for Wifi with WPA encryption.. I have resorted to manual setup of network and and setting firefox toolkit.networkmanager.disable to true in about:config May be u can give that a try...
