I did not change the standard settings. In bios I have "fast boot" & "boot CMS"
disabled.
Zenbook has 2x128GB SSD in RAID 1 setup.

I don't think it was the problem with installation media.
The ultrabook I was installing Ubuntu on was: Asus Zenbook UX301
1) All of the data from the media copied to the disk and the installation
proceeded.
2) the installation crashed while installing GRUB (which is done in the very
end

I created the file:
sudo touch /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
sudo nano /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
Then pasted the following content:
Section "Device"
Identifier "Card0"
Driver "Intel"
Option "AccelMethod" "uxa"
EndSection
which resolved the random crash errors.
