Occuring on init. Laptop's LG M1 Dual Express.
Used to work some time ago in 2.6 or so. Works in Windows.

Same here. It can be reproduced easily.
Save the battery state, reboot, open up pref screen again, and here you
go, with battery state empty again. Looks like it doesn't save it, nor
it tells power indicator to appear in the status bar.
