Im sorry but i didnt knew how to copy the text in the console mode but I can
describe the stpe that i took.
When it asked to connect to ftp site, I said no and it said that the package
will have to compile it. the next error msg comes you dont have the required
compiler installed and finnaly gav

i selected no and then it said couldnt find suitable kernel interface to
compile. it behaves as if build-essential in not there at all, even though i
installed it using synaptic

By kernel issue i meant that when u try to manually istall the nvidia drivers
it gives the following msg

I followed all the steps including the installation of build-essential
but installing the driver still gives the kernel issue.
using ubuntu 8.04 and NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-173.14.05-pkg2.run
