I have managed to get the ICON 505 working by using Ozerocdoff,
HSOconnect and related software.

A working Network Manager would have been a little bit less frustrating.

[karmic] Option iCON 505 3G+ modem not recognized
- I installed Ozerocdoff and the modem is now successfully mouted to the system.
- I also installed HSO driver 1.12.
- The ICON Option 505 modem now shows up in Network Connections and I can enter
a connection.
- I have successfully used minicom and opened up a serial connection to the
modem,
With Ozerocdoff the modem is mounted correctly, and with the HSO drive
it is available as ttyHS0, ttyHS1 and tyytHS2. The modem manager can not
talk to the modem..
** Package changed: linux (Ubuntu) = modemmanager (Ubuntu)

Using Lenovo S12 with Intel ION graphics
Can hibernate OK but not resume from hibernate.
Screen locks up in text mode
Some hard disc activity / HD lamp blinking continously
After a hard power down at takes 2 minutes to boot system again with Orphaned
inodes from disc check.
I should mention that after resuming from suspend the LCD screen does not
switch on until I press a key such as shift or spacebar and the screen
brightness is very low.
After pushing the brightness up again with function keys everything is OK.
