Do you know which package's upgrading fixes this bug? I did "apt-get
dist-upgrade" but still nothing changes. I do use pulseaudio but
pavucontrol is not installed in my case, kmix either. Any other clue?

I booted kernel 2.6.38-12-generic and this bug still exists. But it did
not before I upgraded to 11.10, even with this same kernel
(2.6.38-12-generic). Anyway, writing a script to toggle them unmute
separately can be a working-around.

For example, evince is opened, "man find" in terminal, press "f" or "b"
to turn pagedown or pageup, the error appears, not every page, but
sometimes, by chance of about 1 in 10. When press "j" to scroll down,
the display return to normal.
