I fixed a possible similar problem with tftpd listening on IPv6, but
I've not tried it with XDMCP as i've moved on now.

XDMCP only listens on the IPv6 address, not the IPv4 address.
Can confirm this is in the latest patched version of feisty as of 12 April 07.
It is often not initially noticeable between some hosts due to autoconfigured
IPv6 address use.
