Just for fun I did a clean install of 12.04. Did updates then went
through the precise proposed steps again.
I didn't get the crash, but again am stuck in 640x480. Uninstalling both
nvidia-173 and nvidia-173-updates brings me back to 1024x768.

Hi,
I installed the updates via the steps indicated in the EnabledProposed
document.
After restart, the system is stuck in low graphics mode with a warning
that my display could not be determined.
Uninstalled the update and is back on desktop with 1024x768 resolution
and default driver.

Hi,
I have recently moved to Lucid and I'm still getting the same thing. No
application that can use a webcam is able to use it.
