It doesn't powerdown the radeon when its not in use yet. I know the ACPI call
to power it off/on, and since I have
the BIOS I should be able to repost it. So I'll try adding the callbacks into
the KMS driver to do this soon.

I have been too busy to look into this but from what I've gathered most
of the switchable graphics is done via acpi 'hotpluging'.
This would need to be done before X starts since X.org does not
currently support switchable graphics. I was emailed the acpi dump for
the lenovo laptop from the
