Using Ubuntu 10.04 (upgraded) and ff4.0b1, still experiencing Gnome
freeze (mouse still works). Ctrl+Alt+F2 and executing 'killall firefox-
bin' solved the issue as usual. (For those who are new to Ubuntu: Return
to desktop typing 'logout' and then hit Alt+F7).

Command prompt ceased to accept input. I was able to exist all other
software but the terminal. At log out the login screen did not reappear.
Tried to ssh into the system, again the shell did not accept input but I
was able to login in.

AisleRiot continues to crash and kicks me out to login screen. Nothing
is found in /var/crash. Does anyone have a clue? Where should I look for

I've added my Google Contacts as an Address Book. I have lots of
contacts with birthdays. In Evolution the birthdays don't show.
Copying an Evolution Contact with birthday to Google address book does
not copy the birthday.

Just happened again. This time I was using Xfce desktop.
As usual, deleting large files separately and then running "Empty trash"
helped. No crash after removing large files and directories from Trash.

I can also confirm this bug. Happened a few minutes ago - again(!). About the
fourth time for me. Had about 15 GB worth of data in the trash.
Now, the file system hasn't given me the space back and the trash is empty
after forced reboot (held down power button).
How do I delete these files now

Environment: 6.10 installation, trying to upgrade to 8.04 (preserving
/home, discarding everything else).

would realize I was trying to do a clean install, not an upgrade. No

I burned a new CD and verified its md5sum.
The installer now fails in the same place as the 6.06 installer (see my
bug report # 90293), but in a different way. I configured the mount
points this way:
/ - hda1
swap - hda5 (autodetected)
/tmp - hda6
/usr - hda7
/var - hda8
/home - hda9
When I clic
I just now verified that the md5sum of the file ubuntu-6.10-desktop-
amd64.iso from which I made the CD matches the md5sum at the above link.
However, when I ran "md5sum -c md5sum.txt | grep -v 'OK$'" on the CD, it
reported:
error processing ./casper/filesystem.squashfs: failed in buffer_read(fd):
Sorry for the delay. I had to figure out how to configure my network
manually with "route" and "ifconfig" so I could save the files.
