But I wrote Kubuntu 8.04. So this fix in 8.10 won't help (me) much :-(
I didn't spend much time with Kubuntu 8.10 yet but as far as I've tested it
yet, I think I should keep 8.04 and see if 9.04 is better when it's released or
use Ubuntu...
Never mind, using the console works for me.

I use Kubuntu 8.04 with all updates installed which offered by default and some
additional programs from the repositories. Yesterday I wanted to install the
current version of the Adobe Reader. However, I couldn't find adobe reader or
acroread in the four official

there is no newer Ubuntu _release_ as 8.04, which I've tested (see my
posting). Anyway: I don't have access to that computer anymore I
mentioned.

Ubuntu 8.04 beta: Video - my ATI video card is handled poorly: blank screen
I still have the same problem here with Ubuntu 8.04 and all updates installed:
ATI Radeon X1650 Pro (default driver used by Ubuntu: radeon)
That means if I use the DVI plug on the graphic card next to the mainboard, I
have the problem written above. If I use the other DVI plug or a DVI-VGA
I forgot: I use the i386 version.

What I did:
