I have this problem on Trusty Tahr, but it doesn't only happen at
login. I have three keyboard layouts installed - Danish, Swedish and US
English (the actual keyboard layout is US english), and I often find
that it happens while I'm in the middle of typing a sentence, suddenly

Since upgrading to Ubuntu 12.10, I have no longer been able to create
pseudocolor image plots in Chaco. I try either with the chaco.shell
interface and the chaco.api interface.

I opened a new bug exactly because the behavior described in the summary was
*not* described in any other bugs.
The "as described" part was the part about jagged, lagging scroll.

Trying to install a software package depending heavily on GSL, I get a build
error complaining that this function is missing.
Building the same software works fine in 10.04 and in a fairly recent Debian
Unstable.
I guess Ubuntu is using a custom packaging of GSL?

OK I got some advise on the #Ubuntu+1 IRC channel. It seemed the new new
proprietary NVidia driver (that was still installed though not running)
had messed up the Intel driver somehow. Completely removing it helped.

I can report that GDL is now working fine on my Karmic installation
(and I'm using it for my thesis). An update a few days after I filed
the bug seemed to solve the problem.

After upgrading to Karmic Beta, my Lenovo laptop doesn't return properly
from suspend-to-ram. Trackpad and possibly mouse is dead, and Num Lock
is suddenly on. This was also a bug in earlier distros but has been
fixed at least since Intrepid.

Problem persists with Compiz and Metacity Composite. Metacity w/o
composite works fine, but then a lot of other stuff, like Gnome-Do,
won't work. Is a solution ´coming up? Unfortunately I'm no programmer
myself...

Same problem on a Lenovo 3000 n100. Anything would mount just fine in
Hardy; in Intrepid - and only started some time after my upgrade - it
does not mount audio cd's, and sometimes it can mount data CD but cannot
write to it. Tried using both Brasero and K3b. Ubuntu says it cannot
mount my audio cd

Ihas not been an issue since I reported the CCSM solution. I haven't
been playing around with all the plugins though, so I cannot guarantee

Hi - well I tried to simply delete my compiz settings folder, and by
using CCSM turning the plugins back on one by one. I haven't turned all
back on, so I haven't been able to pinpoint which plugin caused the
misery; and I don't have the time for playing around with that just now.

It may be of interest that wneh I ran Linux 2.6.20-15-generic on my
Lenovo 3000 n100, it worked fine (I still boot into that kernel version
for the same reason). The upgrade to 2.6.20-16-generic seemed to break
it. But, still works fine in 2.6.20-15.
