Added self as affected - Ubuntu 9.10 on Acer TravelMate 8100. Internal audio appears in System Prefences/Sound/Hardware (analog stereo duplex) but the levels indicator, and Sound Recorder, only show even noise. Some success with external USB webcam mike. -- internal microphone not working
