I can confirm everything said here exactly describes my experience on a
thinkpad x220 tablet running 12.04. The only gestures that appear to
work are pinch zoom and 2-finger scroll (by work I mean the intended
action is performed). Added wishes do not appear to work. No instance of
ginn is

Running 10.04 with /tmp on a separate partition the problem still
exists.
I used the work-around posted by ejprinz in the duplicate bug #524196
where he copied /usr/bin/find into /bin. This work-around does work.

Ok, I fixed my issue by switching from my philips psc605 (i think it is)
to the nvidia onboard chip. I get system sounds, flashplayer plays
sounds (youtube) and rbox etc will play sounds. You have to choose the
card in sound preferences if you can switch. I have to say that music
playback is
This problem is cured in my case by additionally muting the 3d control
'depth' control in volume control gui. Hope that might help some...

I have the same problem on Hardy sounds play in Rbox but I have no
system sounds at GDM login, startup, or in sysprefsound. Also don't
have sound playing youtube even though I have the latest flashplayer
installed accourding to firefox about:plugins. Any help appreciated
