I am using Vmware and I created a virtual machine and installed Ubuntu
on it. Unfortunately the sound system does not work in linux machine.
I have other windows virtual machine and sound system works perfectly
for those. but not for my linux machine.

reaching the step where the GRUB setup can be customized (the last page
of the installer) and hitting the "Advanced" button, the drop-down list
of partitions lists the *current*
installing gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
then re adding the files to the library works, now the duration & seeking works
why isn't that installed by default since it is needed?
