I have inspiron 9200, with ATI video card. The OS is Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10

I have the same problem with ATI card and fglrx driver. The
acceleration works but Desktop effects -> Appearance display the message
"Composite extensions not available". The gutsy is RC and the kernel is
2.6.22-14-generic.
