In the guest session the problem doesn't occur, the F9 key works great.
The test environment from that first command you've sent me recognizes
the F9 key being pressed.
On the other side, on my own account the test environment doesn't output
anything, just freezes into that gray layer (and reco

As a side-note, I've just discovered that in Nautilus, the key-binding
for showing/hiding the sidepane is F9 too. And that has the exact same

I've tried and the problem is still there. I've attached the log

I don't know exactly where the preferences are located but i've renamed
~/.gnom2/gedit and /usr/share/gedit-2 directories and started Gedit. The
problem is still there. The screen gets covered in the gray layer as
when X stops responding, i guess. Again, the thing recovers when i click
somewher

If i press the F9 key to show/hide the sidepane, Gedit freezes (the

Well, i've solved it by manually creating the 'medit' directory under
/home/~username/.local/share/ , restart medit and after that it could
successfuly save the config file.
The strange thing is that i couldn't create the directory by right-
clicking in the specified path from nautilus' context-me
