I have the same problem. Using Ubuntu Hardy, when xserver-xorg-video-ati is updated I get a black screen when X is started. It can only be fixed by switching to vesa. My video card is reported as 'ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility 9200 IGP' by lspci. Although my card is really 9000 IGP and not
