you should open a new bug for rendering issues on poppler, that's not an
evince bug.

I'm afraid disabling and then attempting to install the version from the
repo just doesn't work. Precisely, it doesn't detect the official
Ubuntu version. Also ubuntu-desktop depends on Evince, so I can't
uninstall Evince only.

pdfs renders fine, but the menubars don't. some pdfs don't render at
all.

I played a bit around and i cannot reproduce the problem for the builds
we provide for karmic. It happens with upstream builds only, which
probably happens because of a version mismatch of what mozilla builds-in
and what we have on the system. Can you

I can't seem to start xmonad automatically on the 9.04 Jaunty.
Before I upgraded (from Intrepid), I used the following commands to make
xmonad by default windows managers.
$ gconftool -t string -s
it's interesting to note that i used the jaunty instructions whilst on
intrepid and it worked, here's the link

going to be available in evince (okular), the difference between a pdf
and the fonts which evince renders is huge.
