I had to re-install from scratch. I installed the v3.7-rc2-raring
packages and rebooted. Went into system settings and adjusted the
display properties, going to 2560x1600 & 1658x1050 on each screen.
Added screensaver packages. Left the machine for a few hours. Returned

I changed to default and that fixed the problem.
I changed to opengl and the screen was unusable.
I changed back to default and the windows were fine.
I changed to raster and the windows are fine.
I'll keep it at raster and see what happens.

I have found that Muon has hung a few times over the past couple of
days. I have done an installation just now and it is at 99% "running
post-installation trigger tex-common". Not sure if this is the same as

I have made a fresh installation of Kubuntu 11.04 running on a Gigabyte
H67MA-UD2H (Sandy Bridge) motherboard. The system boots but hangs either
during login or shortly after. I have to power down
I think it would be sensible to close this at the moment. I have had to
reinstall and initial indication is that the Kubuntu is not crashing,
although I have an error for which I can gather the automatic crash
information. Please close this bug.
By the way, the new motherboard is the GA-H67MA-UD
Will do. I am swapping the motherboard today for the "B2" series
equivalent - this may make a difference. Hopefully I will not have to
rebuild Ubuntu after the swap. I will run the command and let you know
the result as soon as I have done the swap (probably this evening, UK
time).

I don't think this is a duplicate, I can't find any similar messages in
my logs. I have attached kdm.log and kern.log, there seems to be a
problem reported at the end of kdm.log.
