entry in sessions the keyboard is doing right, but then the lookfeel is

little later to get in sync a short while after the kernel-releases.
The Kernels are released in ΒΌ-year circles and ever just before the
Ubuntu-releases there are fresh kernels.

What elias writes is exactly what I'm thinking for a long time now. I'm
having the same Problem with Gentoo (gentoo-source-2.6.22-r8 genkernel)
too. So it's per se an upstream problem... but is there (veritable)
