In response to my own submission, the submitted backport actually works perfectly in the -16 kernel, as well as the -15 kernel. Apparently the ABI did not change enough to break anything. However, I still think it would be best to get the -16 version back-ported if possible. -- E1000 driver

You're absolutely right - I'm sorry for not updating this bug earlier on this point. I did not realize I put this in Ubiquity - it should be casper. I don't have a Lanai with me at the moment, but I can tell you that the device that isn't recognized by ata_piix is the CRX880A. I'll let you know
