Bug only occurs if compiz desktop cube is active. Works fine with desktop wall .
Might be related to how cube handles edge-flipping.

I think i came a cross the same bug.
Panel on left or right edge doesn't unhide on mouseover if compiz is running.
It does unhide if auto_hide_size is greater than 2 and mouse is positioned
somewhere between one pixel and auto_hide_size -1 from the edge.
Unhide works on top/bottom panels.

It is incredible. It is as simple as:
notify-send --hint=string:x-canonical-private-synchronous: Hell Yeah
This creates a bubble that is treated like "Brightness", so it stays
there for about 2 seconds
The "-t" option is ignored though

okay, probably this is not the same bug.
I just saw that the launchers dragged from the run dialog still exist in gconf
(apps/panel/objects/), but their target is in /tmp
e.g. "/tmp/totem-1.desktop"
So it is clear that it wont be shown after reboot.

I can reproduce this bug by starting the run dialog (alt+F2), typing in
a command and dragging the icon to the panel. The launcher works up to
the next reboot. I am really fond of this feature, because this speeds
up populating the panel an a fresh install.

mpc was updated from 0.16 to 0.19, and the "mpc help" command has now a little
modified output
(some lines on top, which are ignored anyways, and 2 simple spaces in front of
every important line).
