You are right. The kssh window shuts down immediately if openssh-client
is not installed. I checked the source code, it seems the program does
an execvp of ssh, so that binary needs to be present. The program does
not crash if it's not there, it just doesn't do anything. I do not think

I see something similar in gutsy, with apt-0.7.6ubuntu7. When doing apt-
get upgrade, I occasionally get the message Error in select(), and
apparently I need to hit CR before the upgrade carries on. After that,
the system seems normal.

I was hit by this today. It seems the bug has been fixed from upstream,
but _unless_ you run dpkg-reconfigure nis you will not realize that the
bug has been fixed. It seems the reconfiguration should take place when
the package is being updated.

When trying to remove netkit-inetd I get the following error message:

Syntax error in python module

I actually found the problem when installing linda, but the file belongs
to the python-biopython package. I suspect it has something to do with
python2.5 incompatibility. This is what I got:
