Initially deleting the pid file Cameramonitor actually worked when I
plugged in my USB webcam.
Sadly, this was short lived as on a subsequent startup I get same
message.

I can confirm my webcam is indeed an external USB device.
Find below both a dmesg lsusb dump;
$ dmesg

I've recently encountered a problem of sending files via Gmail to Gmail
accounts.
I'm using Empathy 2.30.2-1~ppa10.04+1
Recipient is using Pidgin on Ubuntu 10.04
From my side the file transfer shows 100% complete, however recipient is
only obtaining 98-99% of files before been told the sender me

Clicking the use tools on this note icon causes entire freeze of GNOME
desktop with the exception of mouse pointer.

I get the same in Ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid) with Gnomeradio 1.8
The tuner is detected and device /dev/radio0 is created.
Stations can be scanned and are tuned.
Changing the default driver setting in GConf from any to v4l2 doesn't work
