I had a slow browsing and frequent disconnect issue. I switched to WP2
only. I then also added this earlier:

alias net-pf-10 ipv6 off
alias net-pf-10 off
alias ipv6 off
#alias net-pf-10 ipv6

in sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/aliases.

I changed my MTU to 1452. I added in my ISP's DNS servers in
resolv.conf.

Here is an interesting bit of information that is not really presented
in a technical manner. I notice that the 4 bars that show wireless
connectivity only have 3/4 in blue even though I am 15 feet of the dlink
router. The only time I really ever have a problem with disconnects or
slow browsing is when it shows up as 4/4 blue bars indicating maximum
wifi performance. I also changed my ipv6 to off in the firefox
about:config options.
