I performed the 12.04 to 14.04 upgrade this morning. I was getting the same
reported symptoms (AH00526: Syntax error on line 30 of
/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/mythweb.conf:)
The detailed fix did not work on my machine either.
When trying to start the apache2 server I got the following message:
It appears that lightdm 1.2.3 still has the problem.
The issue cropped up in an install of 64-bit Mythbuntu 12.04, after it had been
running fine for about 15 months.
The nvidia 6150 chip was failing and locking up the system randomly, so it was
replaced with an nvidia 8600GTS PCI-E card.

I'm running Mythbuntu 12.04.2 64-bit and this bug is still occurring.
A week or so ago, I started the Update Manager and it downloaded a list of
around 40 updates.
I saw a Samba update and a perl update and a at least one linux-headers (a

eric@Mythbuntu:~/Desktop$ apt-get -s upgrade
NOTE: This is only a simulation!
apt-get needs root privileges for real execution.

Sorry! False alarm!
I just got the Universal USB Installer (Pendrivelinux) to create a working
bootable USB Flash drive!
I remade the USB flash drive and it worked this time. I'm not sure why it
didn't work the first time.
I wonder if I fat-fingered the distro choice box when I made the first
I downloaded the 32-bit 11.10 ISO file on Super Bowl evening (2-3-2013) from:
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/mythbuntu/releases/11.10/release/
I used the Live-CD to try and update from Mythbuntu 11.04 to 11.10.
(Booted from the CD, chose Install Mythbuntu, Chose Upgrade from 11.04 to 11.10)
The SAME
I forgot to mention that I am running Mythbuntu 9.10 (updates from the
mythbuntu-repos 0.22).
