Public bug reported: Users are reporting that rpcb_getport_async errors and kernel oops exist under Hardy 8.04.02 (2.6.24-23.52). This happens under normal read/write operations using nfsv4. There is no specific condition that causes the rpcb_getport_async and oops to appear and the errors

I'm backtracking w/my last statement a bit. Looks like the 2.6.24-11 kernel doesn't exhibit these problems as well and on top of that I've had zero problems (knock on wood) with the forcedeth driver and this kernel. Yesterday I was able to reliably generate the kernel Oops noted above AND crash

I'm doing a git (as we speak) between 2.6.24-12.18 and 2.6.24-14-25 on my Ubuntu Hardy system. I'm assuming for the moment that 2.6.24-12.18 is a known good version of rpcb_clnt.c. In addition, I'll be installing a 2.6.26 kernel + patches from source on my system and retesting. In the meantime
