Looks like xchat-indicator works like it should, the problem is
somewhere between messaging menu and xchat (xchat can't use the same
instance, it create new one every time you start it, and messaging menu

I removed pulseaudio, but sound still freezes randomly in browsers, local
audacious playback and skype (most annoying) too. Very often my sound repeats
with one fragment 10-20 times, then continue play in normal way

The same problem with 14.04 on Lenovo T540p using NVIDIA. It seems if I
am using UltraDock with mouse and keyboard no issues however with
trackpad the coursor may freeze eventually and the only way to fix the
problem would be C-A-F1 and then back C-A-F7.

I can confirm that upgrading xkb-data package to version 2.5-1ubuntu1.5
in LTS 12.04.4 doesn't resolve the problem. When I disable the mentioned
fix in ~/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css (F10 is disabled in terminal keyboard
combinations), F10 press still opens context menu as if Shift-F10 was
pressed.

So I tested Rage 128 cards on Xubuntu 12.10 and 13.04 - in both cases

On the one hand initial problem is gone - X starts ok now.
On the other hand final picture is buggy - video-buffer seems to be corrupted
and system is not really usable. I attach two screenshots of fresh Xubuntu
13.10 i386 desktop - one on Radeon (good picture), other on Rage 128 (corrupted
one)
it affects me too.
I've manually copied the file phppgadmin from conf.d to conf-available, and
made a symlink to it from conf-enabled, but it did not works till I've renamed
the conf-available/phppgadmin to the conf-available/phppgadmin.conf and fixed
symlink accordingly.

it works, files can be published now
but when I restart computer ubuntuone "forgets" about files published
earlier, and if I want to copy link, I have to choose "Publish" once
again

Fixed in GPSD in Aug 2009, here is the original bug report in Debian

Gpsd developers added compile time option (!?) to set fallback gpsd
group when device from command line is unavailable when gpsd starts.
IMO
looks like the bug is caused by incomplete translation
i have Ubuntu 12.04 with russian localization
if i enter "yes" i got the same "Job not run" message
but if i answer in russian ("да") it works fine

I have the same problem on my Acer Aspire TimelineX under Ubuntu 12.04.
"libata.force=noncq" seems to work.
Daniel, have you run "update-grub" ?

Following some tips I have set /etc/modprobe.d/cdc_ncm.conf:
options cdc_ncm prefer_mbim=N
and it seems solve the problem.
