Thanks for the reply. I still have no solution. I think it could be
xine that's causing the issue. That is the sound and video player used
by Me-Tv. Good to know it's not just me with the problem. I'm in New

I followed the instructions, but I don't think it's going to help. if I
tail the log while pulseaudio is running, nothing happens when I plug my
usb device in. It looks like pulseaudio has no idea the device exists.
Maybe it's a HAL issue?

Using the Natty torrent ISO which I burned to DVD (rather than CD) I
could hear the PC going through the installation motions without seeing
the screen (this went blank after selecting "install Ubuntu" option. I
disconnected the HDMI connection and reverted to the DVI output (which
is connected to

does show the application is working okay on my PC. Subsequently
running "me-tv" does not fix my sound issue, however. The issue with
me-tv remains as reported. Does this help?

I'm still having this issue with the final release of Maverick. Is
