Fine add it as an option to put it on the left, but leave it on the
right for default as the little gain (which is very debatable) does not
to weigh the outrage from users. Look at what yo have from alpha testers
which are people who expect change and want to try something different.

I get permission denied error.
I try
sudo echo FRAMEBUFFER-y > sudo /etc/initramfs-tools/conf.d/splash
sudo update-initramfs -u
But still no file created. Is this the correct way to do it?

I would just like to add that this is very hard to trackpad users.
Pushing the mouse to the right takes longer and is harder to do. Pulling
your finger is much easier.
If I had to test a location for the buttons I would use the center.
Hopefully you consider laptop users in the decision.

I should of added that the cursor comes first then a small bit of
plymouth splash and then GDM loads.

I am also effected, a very small splash screen of about 1/2 sec while
the rest is blinking cursor and something about a faulty mmc controller.

Theres about 3 or 4 different threads in ubuntu forums because lots of
people think it's random or related to firefox (pressing enter in
search) update manager (pressing enter after password). This bug seems
to affect the mojority of people using nvidia drivers.
